The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) has opened up registration for the inaugural InvestmentSpace 2019 one day event being held in Toronto on February 22.

The event is being organized with the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL).

CDL is currently in the midst of its inaugural space stream and InvestmentSpace 2019 will coincide with the completion of the third session of the current stream which concludes in June.

The event is being marketed as happening in the “in the heart of Toronto’s financial district,” and in fact the event is being hosted at the Marriott St. Regis hotel on Bay Street.

The CSA says “InvestmentSpace 2019 will bring together venture capital investors, aspiring Canadian space entrepreneurs and start-up companies looking for pre-seed (under $500,000) or seed funding (under $5 million), as well as business accelerators and incubators focused on space start-ups. The event will feature panel discussions by successful space entrepreneurs and investors as well as a session for start-up companies to showcase and pitch their business ideas. An online platform will be provided to book your B2B meetings prior to the event.”

Registration is free, space is limited and the organizers will be posting a program soon.

The event was first announced at the annual Canadian Space Summit last November by the CSA’s Luc Brûlé.
